I don’t usually get attached to erotic fiction, at least not to where I get so emotionally into it that I forget its erotic and even sometimes forget that its fiction. This story, "Puppy Love", got me into it from the very beginning, with its grasping plot element of the defenseless geek being rescued by a superior jock that the geek knew he could never be like. The jock instills a trust in the boy, which leads to the boy trusting him and having his first gay experience with the jock. The jock takes care of the boy, makes him feel special and even tells him that he loves him. When the jock’s girlfriend spends time with him, the boy becomes jealous and is forced to contemplate his place in the jocks’s life. Does he have what it takes to make the jock want to keep him around, or will he find himself being just another sex object for the jock?
I found myself so attached to this story, both because it was very emotional and because it resembles some aspects of my life, as well as some of my interests. There were parts of this story that made me cry and there were other parts that made me smile. I don’t fully understand all of my reactions to it, but something about this story just seemed to come so close to me.
